In Philadelphia, only three STDs (HIV/AIDS not included) can be reported to the condition department: chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis.
Chlamydia is the most common of these three, and it is rising. In Philly, here were more than 15,000 cases of Chlamydia surrounded by 2002 (sorry, but more recent stats were not available), and given the rates when broken down by age and sexual characteristics, the 15-24 group made up the majority of cases.

But the biggest STDs are not reportable, and can solely be estimated. Given that about 70% of adjectives Americans have HPV, and that most society start having sex contained by their teens or early 20's, I'd read aloud it's likely that HPV is the infection most ethnic group are catching (in Philly and the rest of the US). Luckily, most people clear the infection, and most will never own symptoms. But because the people who do acquire sick from it can get REALLY sick, it's worth involved to and preventing.
HPV is now vaccine preventable within girls. Vaccine will soon be available to guys. Condoms aren't perfect for HPV prevention, but they're profusely better than nothing.
