What does it connote when my chin clicks when I swallow?
It' likely a misalignment of the chin...which in turn cause a misaligned bite. I remember this is the case when my dentist perform a test on me when I considered necessary braces. He pressed the joints of my jowl and told me to bite down, and asked me if I heard a click. He next told me that I had a slight overbite.
It method you have clickjaw.
your mouth is out of alignment
chew gum.
i really don't know what else to tell you to do.strengthen your chin muscles and aligning them by chewing gum is my only suggestion.chew on the side that cracks.when you swallow.to strengthen it.and align the jowl. .good luck,.
mine used to do that, but it go away after like a year. if it doesnt travel away, it might be lockjaw, see a doctor
It's TMJ, Temporo-Mandibular Joint (TMJ), the joint where on earth the the lower jaw ... TMJ. Look up this site for info on your condition, I found it helpfull. http://www.entnet.org/healthinfo/topics/...
I also have TMJ, but then I have jaw surgery end year and no longer have that problem. So it is a misalignment of your jaws. Depending on how desperate it is you might need surgery too or they enjoy dental pieces you can wear at night to relieve.
When you swallow? or when you chew? If you mean when you chew - more than possible it is TMJ. If you are referring to the "clicking" you hear when you swallow - that is lately the re-adjustment of pressure in your middle ear. There is a section of your ear called the Eustachian tube that generally opens every time you swallow surrounded by order to equalize pressure inside your ear. That's what you hear when you swallow. It's not in truth in your jowl at all - lately close by so it may sound that road.
