What does it be determined when someone's a "vegetable"?
I hate this expression.
It mode that someone's brain is so damaged that they are immediately non responsive to their environment and painful stimuli.
They will never get better and will remain in a vegative state.
Just resembling a 'vegetable' would be.
you spelt it wrong, but that's ok! it means that you are powerless to take safekeeping of yourself and you life is simply there because you're hooked up to a machine- and someone other has to look after you
It ability he/she can no longer take nurture of him/herself, and that they basically are inept to move or communicate. Think Terri Schiavo.

when someone is "vegetable" it means that the creature is no longer capable of standing or sitting alone or even feed himself/herself. this person is also too thinned to do things and in some cases his/her mental state have already gone bad, I imply, not able to sanction or think or even speak, s/he may be alive but could not be in motion about his/her everyday functions as a person and most of the time s/he may be confined to bed or within a hospital. this usually happens after a severe trauma or as a result of a terrifically debilitating malady.
This is a term used that describes some one that can not yak,eat,or do any article for their self like lift a bath or nurture their self, go to the rest room on their own and may even hold to be changed, respond to a question or ask a examine. The person may enjoy had a stroke or brain injury or fluke such as a fall cause full paralysis.
