What does a rack up of 58 ALT IU/L, relating to the liver plan?
Don't panic, if you suffered from any of the previous diseases mentioned, you would show signs of liver disaster such as jaundice (yellowing of skin and eyes). This is a BORDERLINE high result that wants to be looked at in relation to the other liver function test (AST, GGT). It could be caused by medication since most are metabolized by the liver. Combination of drugs can stress the liver and elevate your ALT. Not to verbs, just follow up beside another blood test contained by the future. But, of course- you should confirm my proposal with your physician.
depending on the lab, 58 ALT is not too high-ranking, but it is elevated. diseases such as mono or hepatitis c can cause a rise surrounded by alt and or ast levels. other infectious diseases can impose this as well.
within the case of hcv, a chronic elevated state where on earth alt and ast levels are concerned can be indicative of cancer cell growth.
it's best to converse about your results near your doctor.

to the poster below-i lived with hepatitis c for most of my duration. infection while very youthful. never turned yellow. several heppers do not show signs of yellowing. as for mono? very few again turn wan or show any other physical signs or experience symptoms, so your statements are false.
