There are several different types of pneumonia. In most cases the lungs will have fluid/phlegm/secretions contained by them. This will decrease the amount of oxygen that get into the bloodstream. All the cells within the body need oxygen. So if you don't die from the pneumonia and its not treated, it will affect adjectives the organs and parts of your body by starving them of needed oxygen.
